When entering Autumn, the difficulties for broil farm ground raising is becoming more and more serious, so how to deal with this problems for the farmers?


1. Strengthen the disinfection of chicken house and equipment

Arrange the preapration work of  washing, cleaning, disinfection, empty house according to the chicken house situation and the date of receiving chicks. In general, the next batch of broiler has to enter the house after the preivous batch of broiler move to for sell at least  2 weeks,so as to ensure there is enough time for the house preparation and free time.

Check and repair the heat supply, ventilation and lighting equipment, block the rat hole to prevent rat damage, prepare enough feed and tools, and formulate immunization prevention plan to ensure the timely delivery of drugs and vaccines.


2. Selection of chicks

We should select strong chicks and eliminate weak chicks, residual and abnormal chicks. The strong chicks are characterized by well-developed, clean and glossy feathers, dry, lively and active, clear and loud sound, strong eyes, steady standing, strong hands, quick reaction, soft and elastic abdomen, good umbilical healing and no bleeding marks. The weak chicks were in low spirits, with loose feathers, eyes closed, head retracted, unstable standing, poor absorption of egg yolk, protruding umbilicus and traces of bleeding.


3. Environment control

The environment has a great impact on the growth of chicks, especially after autumn, the temperature gradually decreases,  the temperature difference between day and night is relatively large, so the stress on chickens is strong, we should be very careful at this stage.

1) Temperature: appropriate temperature is the key to improve the survival rate of chicks. in the first week, The temperature of chicken house should be controlled at 35 ℃ - 33 ℃, and then decreased by 2 ℃ - 3 ℃ every week until to about 20 ℃; the external temperature at night is low, and the chicken activity is less, so the temperature should be 1 ℃ higher than that in the daytime. To master the temperature, the following principles should be followed: high in the early stage and low in the late stage; low in the daytime and high at night; low in sunny days and high in cloudy days. Whether the temperature is suitable or not can be judged from the dynamic of chicks: the temperature is normal, the chicks are lively and active, evenly distributed, the feathers are bright, the appetite is strong, and the sleep is quiet at night. When the temperature is too low, the chicken is close to the heat source, the fluff stands up, squeezed into piles and squeaks. Too high temperature, chicken are far away from heat, mouth breathing, two wings open, drinking water increase, appetite is not good.

2) Illumination: generally, the chicks are at the age of 0-5 days after entering the house should be exposed to 24 hours of illumination, and then gradually shortened to 20 hours until they are moved out. In the light intensity, from the fifth day to take weak light, so that the chicken can eat and drink normally on the line, in order to prevent the crowd. Proper light limitation during the growth period is beneficial to the development of internal organs in the dark and to prevent excessive death (sudden death) in the later period. If broilers were raised for 42 days or 35-36 days, intermittent light or 23 hours light and 1 hour dark should be used.

3) Humidity: the relative high humidity should be kept in the first 1-2 weeks, and the relative low humidity should be kept in the third week. The reference standard is: the relative humidity can be controlled at 70% - 65% in the first 2 weeks, and 55% - 60% in the later, and the minimum is not less than 40%.
4) Ventilation: broilers need good ventilation in the whole feeding cycle, especially in the late feeding period. At the age of 1-3 weeks, it is mainly heat preservation, proper ventilation, low ammonia concentration and no smoke and dust. When ventilation, try to use lifting isolation plastic film to solve the problem. If it still can not be solved, open the chicken house doors and windows for ventilation. 4 weeks old to the market to ventilation, maintain the appropriate temperature, ammonia smell small. In autumn, the doors and windows should be opened properly according to the external temperature, but the cold air should be prevented from blowing directly on the chickens.

4. Drinking water management

It must be guaranteed not to be contaminated by Escherichia coli and other pathogenic microorganisms. In the first week, drink the same warm boiled water as the room temperature, and then use deep well water or tap water. 2.5% ~ 5% glucose, brown sugar and broiler multidimensional were added to the drinking water in the first three days. The chicks should drink water for 3-4 hours after entering the brooding room, and then start feeding for the first time; the water nipple drinker should be placed evenly and moderately high, cleaned and disinfected 1-2 times a day, and the water storage time of water tank and barrel should not exceed 3 days; the daily drinking water volume should be recorded as far as possible, if the drinking water volume is abnormal, it is often due to the difference of feeding management. It's often a sign of disease in chickens or flocks.
Add compound vitamins, increase the supply of nutrients, improve immunity.

Autumn is the golden season for broiler breeding, but the requirements for feeding and management are also higher. On the one hand, new breeders should master the management and prevention measures of common diseases as soon as possible. On the other hand, they should consult more experienced breeders and service personnel of various companies. Only in this way can they raise chickens well and achieve better economic benefits.
