Where should the chicken farm be built?

The choice of broiler farm site is directly related to the epidemic prevention status and economic benefits of the broiler farm. According to the size of the breeding scale and resource conditions, the following aspects should generally be considered:

(1) Convenient transportation. The location of the chicken farm should be in a place with convenient transportation, close to the road, close to the place of consumption and the source of feed. The site must have a certain distance from the main traffic arteries, preferably more than 1,000 meters, which is conducive to epidemic prevention and meets the needs of the heavy traffic tasks of the chicken farm.

(2) Sufficient water source. A chicken farm with a production scale of 10,000 chickens needs 3 to 4 tons of drinking water per day, and other water, such as washing, cooling, and domestic water, is no less than 10 tons. Therefore, when considering the water source of the chicken farm, we must first understand whether the water supply is sufficient, and then check the water quality of the water source.

(3) Good epidemic prevention and isolation. The best choice for a chicken farm is a place where no livestock and poultry have ever been raised. The site should be selected in a place with high terrain, good ventilation and easy drainage.

(4) Guarantee power supply. Electricity is needed for lighting, water supply, temperature supply, ventilation, etc. in the chicken farm, so the chicken farm requires sufficient power.

(5) Good environmental conditions. When choosing a site, it is better to choose a flat or slightly sloped terrain. Sandy soil is more suitable for the soil quality. At the same time, it is necessary to understand the natural climate conditions of the site.

(6) There is room for development. The site should be reasonably planned, which is conducive to the comprehensive utilization of agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, sideline and fishery, and the possibility of future development and expansion of chicken farms should also be considered.
