Selection principle of high-quality broiler chicks

1. Investigate the quality of breeding eggs and incubation management techniques.

2. Chicks appearance: The feathers on the outside are clean, shiny and dry, and the chicken flocks (size) are well neat.

3. The weight meets the requirements of the variety: lively, active, loud and crisp, with big eyes.

4. There is no blood on the umbilical cord and healed well.

5. Clean around the cloaca.

6. Abdomen is well absorbed, the size of the abdomen is moderate, and the beak, eyes, legs, and claws are not deformed.

7. Hold the chick in your hand, with elasticity and strong struggling force, or lift the chick's claws upside down within 4 hours from the shell, and have a strong turning force to the back of the hand.

Selection method of high-quality broiler chicks

1. The chicks must be hatched from 52-65 grams of breeding eggs. The chicks hatched from too small or too large eggs must be raised separately. The same batch of chicks should come from the offspring of the same batch of breeders.

2. The chicks have good feathers, clean and shiny.

3. The umbilicus of the chicks healed well, without infection, swelling, and no black lines remaining, and the feathers around the anus were dry.

4. The eyes of the chicks are round and bright, their standing postures are normal, they are alert and lively, and they are struggling forcefully in their hands. Cull chicks with crutches, tilted heads, defective eyes, or cross-mouthed chicks.

5. Chicken feet are as bright as wax, not dry and fragile.

6. The hatching time of chicks is between 20.5 and 21 days after incubation.
